SEO, social previews and sharing

AI writes your page, but it rarely writes a good SEO tags or link previews. The Search & social panel lets you fix that.

The Search & social panel

On the deploy screen, expand Search & social. Everything here is applied to your HTML at deploy time:

  • Page title - the browser-tab text and the headline search engines and chat apps show. Pre-filled from your page; make it human (“Ana & Sam’s wedding” beats “index”).
  • Description - the sentence under the title in search results and links.
  • Social preview - the panel writes the Open Graph and Twitter tags, so WhatsApp, iMessage, LinkedIn and X show a proper card instead of a bare URL.
  • Favicon - pick any emoji and pushd turns it into the site’s favicon, or select an image file if you uploaded a folder containing one.

Settings are remembered per site name, so updating a site keeps its title and preview without re-typing.

The badge

Free-plan deploys include a small “Published with pushd” credit in the corner of the page, linking back to pushd. Pro users get a toggle in this panel to remove it. That’s the entire difference - no other content is added to your page.

Sharing after deploy

Every successful deploy ends on the result screen with a share tray:

  • QR code - generated locally in your browser, downloadable as a PNG. Made for posters, table cards, slides - anywhere phones point at things.
  • Share links - one-tap WhatsApp, X, LinkedIn and email shares of your URL.
  • Markdown - copies [site name](url) for READMEs, forums and notes apps.

The same links are available later from any history row.

Previewing before it’s public

Next to the deploy button, preview opens your page in a pop-out with device frames (phone/tablet/desktop widths), so you can catch layout surprises before the page has a URL. There’s also a ⤢ pop-out in the popup header that reopens pushd as a standalone window - useful because it stays open while you click around a preview.
